Damon Nelson writes the comparison pages on newsmasher.com. He runs Launch Ninjas, Inc. in McKinney, Texas, and with lead developer Wayne Atkinson has spent twenty years building marketing software for people who publish alone: RSSMasher, AIMasher, BookMasher, MarketMasher, NewsMasher and the rest of the Masher suite.

01What does Damon Nelson do?

Damon Nelson builds AI and SEO software for publishers and marketers, and consults on marketing automation. He hosts Geek Out Fridays, a mastermind on automated content marketing that meets on Zoom every other Friday, and he co-founded VidPenguin Productions, where he makes video training. His books are listed on his Amazon author page.

NewsMasher came out of his own publishing. For years he and Wayne Atkinson ran news sites on a chain of their own tools: one pulled stories from RSS feeds, one rewrote them, one pushed the posts to a scheduler. NewsMasher is that chain rebuilt as one machine that reads the story before it writes.

02What did he do before software?

Damon Nelson studied mechanical engineering at Texas A&M and holds an MBA. Before software he was a production engineer on Navy projectiles, worked on converting airliners into private jets, restored muscle cars, ran a three-location Rent-a-Wreck franchise in Dallas-Fort Worth, worked in real estate, and brokered domain names, including a $2.5 million sale for a bankruptcy court. He has worked in internet marketing software for more than twenty years.

03What has he written on newsmasher.com?

Damon Nelson wrote every NewsMasher comparison page. Each one says what the other tool is built to do, where each tool is the better pick, and what each costs as published on the day he checked:
